Day Map
Service: Day & Night guided game drives, Walking safaris

Notes: This camp has ten rooms (8 luxury, and 2 deluxe) sleeping 20 guests and is the northern most camp on the west bank of the Luangwa accessible from the main Mfuwe area. Its position is one of its strongest assets, by the time you reach camp you have left the Mfuwe area, which at times can become quite busy, a long way behind. There are lagoons in the vicinity of camp and the rich riverine vegetation and mixed woodland has a high carrying capacity so game-viewing is usually very good. Lion Camp's facilities are impressive, with an attractive and well-designed main area featuring the significant luxury of a swimming pool. The openness of the lodge affords spectacular views of the plains with the constant presence of wildlife. The suites have been designed to maximize the spectacular views of the plains with plenty of wildlife passing, allowing guests the opportunity of constant viewing, from either the main lodge decks or the luxury of their own private suite deck.

Notes: This is one of our top choices for the more budget conscious clients that are looking for a private lodge feel but not wanting to pay the prices associated with most of the smaller exclusive camps found in the area. There are 7 rooms but the configuration of the camp is such that some of the brick and thatch chalets are better suited to families with a larger room and something smaller that would suit kids. There is a pool in the well maintained gardens as well as a natural inlet from the river which is excellent for birding. The central two story building contains bar and dining areas and has good views across the river as it flows past camp. The drive from Livingstone airport is about 35 minutes and this is included in the rates, the camp, in line with it neighbours that are out of the main Livingstone town area are more activity based so walks, birding and fishing trips as well as picnic lunches and the like are all encouraged and included in the rates.Waterberry has worked hard on its product delivery in recent years and receives consistently good reviews for its personalized attention to detail. Guests can also pay more for an exclusive private stay at the nearby Waterberry Farm House.
